In the 1980s, our drummer Scott’s dad and uncle worked for the Houston Astros during spring training in Cocoa Beach, Fla. They and their friends collected more than 200 bats, usually because they had broken or splintered and the hitters couldn’t use them. They’ve been stored in Scott’s grandparents’ house on Merritt Island for almost 40 years, and we’ve turned a few of them into these logoed holiday ornaments for your Christmas tree or other traditions.
